Kristine C. Alessio

About Kristine:

"Kristine Alessio is a leader making a positive impact in La Mesa. She has taken on bully politicians, stood up to outside interests, and been a committed advocate for taxpayers. I fully believe that Kristine will keep a citizen perspective in City Hall, take a careful and balanced approach to environmental issues, and ensure that the basic needs of police, fire, and civic infrastructure are met."

Scott H. Kidwell,  La Mesa resident, union electrician and La Mesa Environmental Sustainability Commissioner.

Born in La Mesa, and as a 24 year resident, Kristine has strong ties to our City.  Her father grew up on Palm Avenue and attended La Mesa Dale Elementary. Her grandparents worked in La Mesa, with her grandfather retiring from the U.S. Navy and taking a job at La Mesa Lumber Company in 1952.  Her grandmother was a member of the La Mesa Woman's club in the 1950's and 1960's.  Kristine knows La Mesa and is a voice for you who cares.

Whether she was volunteering with the Lemon Avenue PTA, the La Mesa Adult Enrichment Center (Pet Therapy), serving as a City Planning Commissioner for 10 years, Kristine has kept the best interests of La Mesa first and foremost.

Always open and accessible, she has worked with individuals, neighborhood groups and business owners to resolve with code enforcement issues,  public safety issues and land use issues.

She believes in giving back to the community she loves,  she uses her stipend received as La Mesa's SANDAG representative to support local charities and individuals in need, including but not limited to:  La Mesa Friends of the Library,  La Mesa Flag Day Parade, the La Mesa Arts Foundation, La Mesa Historical Society, La Mesa Parks Foundation, La Mesa Beautiful, Mission Trails Regional Park Foundation, Water Conservation Garden, Volcan Mountain Foundation and Mt. Helix Park Foundation.

She has consistently refused to take campaign contributions from special interest organizations and will not ally herself with any lobbying groups or use the office of City Council to promote any special agenda.  No gimmicks.  No politics.  Just action for La Mesa.

My commitments:

*   La Mesa comes first.
*   Support for our Police and Fire personnel.
*   No new taxes.
*   Safe streets, roads and schools.
*  Government working for the people and businesses.
*  No special interests.

"When WE first elected Kristine to the La Mesa City Council she already had experience on the Planning Commission and many community-wide causes. With her service on the San Diego Association of Government (SANDAG) as La Mesa's Council Representative, Kristine has the broad legal and financial experience,diverse scope of many local and critical projects to keep them on track..
She always asks the crucial questions, gets the necessary answers, exercises good informed judgements, makes the decision- FOR US."
